Come Worship at Hertford UMC

We invite you to visit Hertford United Methodist Church at the corner of Market and Covent Garden Streets in downtown Hertford. We have a nursery at both our services each Sunday as well as Children’s Church during the 11 a.m. service. Our nursery is equipped with a pager system so parents can immediately be notified in case of any emergency. We also have several EMTs and nurses as part of our congregation, ready to help in whatever way is needed. Our services include:

8:30 a.m. Early Informal Worship
9:45 a.m. Assembly for Children of the Church
Sunday School for teens and adults
10:00 a.m. Children’s Sunday School Classes begin
11:00 a.m. Sunday Morning Service

From Memorial Day through Labor Day special Sunday Services are held at 8 a.m. at Strick’s Campground, which is located off Harvey Point Road off Highway 17 in Hertford.

Fellowship Time is held last Sunday of each month. This is a great time to get to know the people of Hertford UMC and for the congregation to get reacquainted with each other.

Holy Communion is celebrated each month, usually on the first Sunday. It is also celebrated at other times during the year, particularly at Easter and Christmas. United Methodist practice “open” communion, which means that the invitation is to all “who repent of their sin and intend to lead a new life following the commandments of God.”
