Worship Opportunities

We invite you to visit Hertford United Methodist Church at the corner of Market and Covent Garden Streets in downtown Hertford.

Our services include:
8:30 a.m.      Early Informal Worship
9:45 a.m.      Assembly for Children
Sunday School for teens and adults
10:00 a.m.   Sunday School Classes for children
11:00 a.m.   Worship

From Memorial Day through Labor Day special Sunday Services are held at 8 a.m. at Strick’s Campground, which is located off Harvey Point Road, east of Hertford.

The last Sunday of each month Fellowship follows both the 8:30 a.m. and the 11 a.m. services. Light refreshments are available. This is a great time to get to know the people of Hertford UMC and for the congregation to get reacquainted with each other.

Holy Communion is celebrated once a month, usually on the first Sunday. It is also celebrated at other times during the year, particularly at Easter and Christmas. The United Methodist Church practices “open” communion, which means that the invitation is to all “who repent of their sin and intend to lead a new life following the commandments of God.”

The children are also involved in the service each Sunday when they serve as Aycoltes and Bible Bearer for the Worship Service.
