Hertford UMC is very fortunate to be able to offer scholarships each year to graduating seniors at Perquimans County High School.

At the present time there are five scholarships, which are awarded annually by the Church.  There are guidelines which summarize the requirements, which must be followed in order to meet the directives established by the donors of the funds.

The administration of these funds, dedicated to the scholarship programs, is under the care of the Hertford United Methodist Church Endowment Funds Committee.  It is that committee’s responsibility to ensure that the funds are properly invested and that the distribution of funding awards are done in line with the provisions of the original grants.

The scholarships offered are:
Dorothy W. Barbee Scholarship
Winslow-Elliott Scholarship
Knowles Scholarship
Frank & Anna Lee McGoogan Scholarship
Joseph Lee Tunnell Scholarship
United Methodist Men’s Scholarship
United Methodist Women’s Scholarship

Each year a Scholarship Packet of the guidelines is produced for seniors and their families to complete.  Representatives of the families of the scholarship set up are part of the selection committee.  You can downlo0ad the 2012 package of scholarship information and forms by clicking here – Scholarship Info.
